Moonlight Mile Complete(r) Edition Volume 2 (plus new years message)

Well everyone New Years is upon us. I'm staying with in-laws, Hichikarah is snowed in and No More Cheese Dip devoted his new years to finishing this before year's end. To his credit, he did it.

Moonlight Mile volume 2 is now complete I like to ask for things from the other intrepid group members on what I should post along with our releases so let's get that out of the way. No More Cheese Dip told me redoing this volume started fun but became soul-sucking in the middle. While doing chapter 13 he got to a point where he was plateauing compared to his old editing and not noticing significant changes between old pages and new pages anymore. This sucked all the fun out of this, so he forced himself to improve to make a big gulf between old and new chapters. So, full onomatopoeias are done in later chapters in this volume and a lot of complex redraws never attempted before are done. Hichikarah also wanted me to mention that about 30% of all the bubbles in this volume were retranslated to be more accurate. The same kind of additional bonus context we added to volume 1 is here now too, so this is once again the "Complete(r) Edition". A few tankoban pages were used in instances where No More Cheese Dip was conflicted on which was better so we all 3 voted amongst ourselves what looked better.

Our original goal when redoing these was to make what would be the best way to read Moonlight Mile short of learning Japanese and reading the official release yourself, but some of the work we put into this blows away the official release. Our redone color pages just look stunning.

All 3 of us want to apologize for wasting 4 months of 2024 (a whole quarter of the year) redoing our Moonlight Mile translation, but the ends justify the means. Both volumes look so much better now and you cannot tell me otherwise. The long wait for this specific volume inspired Hichi to pick up Kochikame, and we have gotten not one, but two chapters of that done in the wait for this volume. Good things are born from misery, as you see. We also bought volume 2's ebook for this and all of that money went directly to Ohtagaki himself, so rest assured his pockets were lined (albeit minorly) in the making of this scanlation. So what next? Two back to back mini projects that should be out in January, followed by the final chapter of Candy Box Creations. Maybe Kochikame chapter 3 will come out before Candy Box Creations, who knows, that's all up to Hichi.

Still not convinced to read this manga? Listen to the Moonlight Mile theme and let it hype you up.

As crewmen aboard the ISS Jack Woodbridge and Gorou Saruwatari are among the best of the best, but those skills are put to the test when a life is put in danger and the two of them are the deciders on if that life is worth risking the lives of thousands. Then, on Earth NASDA is developing a new machine for use on the moon that could revolutionize exploration on it, but tragedy strikes. Now the fate of the developers and their project is called into question, with the answer hidden behind a shield of lies that goes all the way up to the government itself.
